This is a colorful rendition of a rocket engine.  The main panel is an end view, directed downward toward fuel lines, pumps, and the nozzle; the payload would be attached at the center, coming out of the canvas.

I worked on computer simulations of static and dynamic launch loads for this vehicle in my previous career as an aerospace engineer.  I was co-author of a paper entitled "Impact of Dynamics on the Design of the RL10B-2 Extendible Carbon-Carbon Exit Cone."
