This piece is made of soldered metal rings arranged to fill a circle. The rings are slightly different sizes, and create a semi-regular packing pattern, suggestive of a soapy froth. Some of the larger rings create a spiral pattern that is repeated six times.

The RGB LED pixels are mounted behind the metal rings, with one LED near the center of each medium and large sized ring. A layer of black organza and polyester diffusing material lies above the LEDs but behind the metal layer, to smooth out the light while also giving the filled-in areas a gray color when the LEDs are off. Diffused backlighting can be seen through the smaller rings, and the remaining gaps between the rings.

The LEDs are animated in a variety of hypnotic patterns. By default it automatically cycles through a variety of pre-defined effects, or you can select a pattern that will play continuously.
