Closed Hexagonal Lattice
Acrylic on canvas
30" h x 40" w
1997
This painting uses six evenly spaced colors in the rainbow (according to a painter's palette) in a complex repeating arrangement on a grid of interlocking triangles, in a hexagonal lattice.
It is referred to as a “closed” lattice because it does not contain windows of black where you can see beyond the grid, as occurs in Open Hexagonal Lattice I or Open Hexagonal Lattice II.
